Jimmie Orange transitioned to Eternal
Reward in the morning hours of Wednesday, May 23rd, 2018 at the Gracewood Health and Rehabilitation Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

A long-time resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma,
Jimmie was born on March 11th, 1933 in
Ft Necessity, Louisiana to Ned and Rose
(Wade) Orange. He was the youngest of 17 children and lived a significant amount of his early adult life in Monroe, Louisiana. Jimmie traveled as a Truck Driver and in the early 1970’s located to Tulsa as an employee of Acme Brick company on North Greenwood Avenue.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, working as a mechanic on vintage cars, cooking and talking with his children. He coined himself as “The Root” to his children.

Strong in his faith during his later years, Jimmie was led to Christ in1997 by his pastor and devoted son Vincent Orange, who cared for him until his death. It was the compassion of his children that kept him and brought him untold joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ned and Rose Orange, son Jeffery Orange, and his 16 siblings.

Jimmie is survived by sons Jimmie Orange, Jr., West Monroe, LA; Gregory
Orange, Jacksonville, ARK, Vincent Orange (Lisa), Broken Arrow, OK,;
Rodney Orange, Powder Springs, GA; Jackie Jerome Orange, (Stacy), Ponca City, OK; Christopher Orange, Monroe, LA; and John Orange,
Powder Springs, GA; daughters Helen Marie Orange, Monroe, LA; Hettie
Orange Smith (Andrew), Powder Springs, GA; and Rose Orange Lucille
(Fredd), San Jose, Costa Rica; He is also survived by 21 grandchildren,
and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
