Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, Oklahoma, 918-786-2261.Billye Marie (Rhodes) Oliver, 95 year old former resident of Grove, passed away on January 16, 2018 in Plano, Texas.
Billye was born on December 13, 1922 in Welch, Oklahoma. She was the loving daughter of Earl and Mabel (Dixon) Rhodes. Billye was a graduate of Grove High school. She was united in marriage to husband Fred Oliver of 54 years, who preceded her in death. Billye was the Head Cook for Grove Public Schools for many years. She enjoyed tending to her flowers and her large vegetable garden, and was always very involved in the Women’s Church Group activities.
Billye was preceded in death by parents Earl and Mabel Rhodes, her husband Fred Oliver, two sisters Coila Pritchard and Betty Clem. She is survived by her three sons; Hudson Sparkman of Grove, OK, Bill Sparkman and his wife Mary Jane of Jenks, OK, and Fred Oliver and his wife Barby of Carrollton, TX. She was blessed with five grandchildren Kristen Anderson, Jennifer Cowan, Craig Sparkman, Mecca Smith and Lindsay Schrader, 6 great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and a host of loving family and friends.
There will be an open visitation held from Noon till 5:00 pm, Friday, January 19, 2018 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel. Services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Grove’s First Baptist Church with Reverend Gary Butler officiating. Billye will be laid to rest in the Hickory Grove Cemetery. Honoring Billye’s life serving as casket bearers will be; Max Wallace, Rick Littlefield, Mike Spicer, Chris Smith, Lynn Anderson, John Elmo Butler, Ross Roberts and John Stevenson. Online condolences can be made by viewing Billye’s Book of Memories at www.honoringmemories.com. Memorial donations can be made in Billye's name to: Meals on Wheels c/o DOC Services Inc., P.O. Box 848, Miami, OK 74355 or to the Bell Tower Fund in care of Grove's First Baptist Church.
