I confided in Monte after my dad passed away, and I knew I could get straight forward advice from him without a lecture. He loved his family and his friends and lived life to the fullest. Written 8/3/2012: "Just wanted to post this to show those that may not have had the luxury of knowing what a great guy Monte was. What you can't see ...is Monte coming to pull me out of the 28" of snow. Those that remember that morning there was what seemed like no way to get out and about, after being laughed at by a few friends when I called to help me out I called Monte, within 20 minutes in over 2 feet of snow Monte had me pulled out. More than a great friend, Monte was an awesome DAD! RIP my friend."

It may be six or seven years, or seventy two, or three. But will you 'till I call Monte back, take care of him for me? He'll be a special dad & son, and though his stay be brief, You'll have fantastic memories, as solace for your grief. I cannot promise how long he'll stay, as all from earth return, but there are lessons taught down there, I want this man to learn. I've look all o'er this world of ours in search of teacher true, and from the throngs of caring Moms, I have selected you. So will you teach him all you know, think not the labor vain, and be not angry when I call, to take him back again. He served his family long and well, and now his work is done, You loved him well but now 'tis time, to end what God's begun. So think of Monte with tenderness, for he was always there, a special man in all ways, for him a special prayer.
