Obituary for James Cooper

James  Cooper
James Cooper, age 93 died on February 12, 2011 at the Grand Lake Villa in Grove Oklahoma.

James was born on April 22, 1917 in Grove, Oklahoma and was the son of James “Jimmie” and Pearl (Huft) Cooper. He grew up on the farm in the Drowning Creek area of Delaware County. He worked in the oil industry as a machinist, including Unit Rig and Equipment in Tulsa, Oklahoma and El Paso Natural Gas. James loved to play sports including golf. He also enjoyed handling his coon hounds and coon hunting.

James was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Lena Delma Hudgins Cooper, wife Ruth Marie Watts Cooper and his third wife Helen (Barnard) Cooper.

James is survived by his son Jack Cooper, two daughters Bonnie Jean Hicks and Kayleen Tuttle, nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 18, 2011 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Grove, Oklahoma with Pastor Jim Hale officiating. Interment to follow at Olympus Cemetery in Grove, Oklahoma.
