Obituary for Lorene L Worden (Doty)

Lorene L  Worden (Doty)
Lorene L. Worden, age 82, of Grove, Okla., passed away on Sunday December 19, 2010 at St. John’s Hospital, following an illness.

Lorene was born on February 27, 1928 in Stella, Mo., the daughter of the late William and Jewel Doty. She was a former resident of Joplin, moving to Grove in 1986. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Noel Church of Christ in Noel, Mo. Lorene was very active in the Grove Community. She was a member of the Hickory Grove Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, the Hickory Grove Ladies Club, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Temple Chapter #95 of Joplin, Mo.

She married James (Jim) Worden on August 20, 1977, and he survives. Additional survivors include, three daughters, Dianna Baker, Miami, Okla., Linda Larson, Eugene, Oregon, and Jennifer Worden, Branson, Mo.; two sons, Butch Skilling, Wichita, Ks., and Christopher Worden, Blue Jacket, Okla.; three brothers, Bill Doty, Aloha, Oregon, Robert Doty, Portland, Oregon, John Wayne Doty, Pascho, Wash.; two sisters, Dorothy Hall, Webb City, Mo., and Charlene Lawson, Newburg, Oregon; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Paul Harlan; two brothers, Raymond and Ernest Doty; and a sister, Jewel M. Brown

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Worley-Luginbuel Chapel in Grove, Okla. Pastor Ed McFall will officiate. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Forest Park Cemetery in Joplin.

The family will receive friends 5-6 p.m. Tuesday at Worley-Luginbuel Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society in care of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Chapel
