Obituary for Lowell Victor Sears
Luginbuel Funeral Home, Vinita, OK (918) 256-5555.....Lowell Victor Sears went to be with his Savior Tuesday January 16, 2019.
Lowell was born to Edgar and Buna Sears (Jordan) in Split Log Missouri February 1, 1941. He graduated from Goodman High school in 1959 and enlisted in the Navy. During his time in the Navy Lowell was a radioman aboard the aircraft carrier, USS Midway. After being honorably discharged, he was united in marriage to Sue Sears on May 21, 1968. Lowell and Sue were married for over 35 years until her passing in November of 2014.
He worked at several places during his life, Eastern State hospital, Industrial roofing in Tulsa, and several Service Stations around Vinita. He worked at Dana/Eaton for over 19 years before retiring in 2007.
He worked with his hands his whole life. He enjoyed repairing things and woodworking; he was always working on one thing or another to give away. He loved to make peanut brittle and peanut butter cookies but always made too many, which gave him a reason to go share them with everyone. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with family. He was always the joker and loved practical jokes. He especially loved to entertain his grandchildren. He would light up when any of them were around. He would act silly just to get them to smile.
Survivors include:
Siblings, Nora Lee Hutchinson of Butler, MO, Billy Jo Sears, Kansas City, MO.
Children: Jerry and Lana Sears of Claremore, Mike Sears of Welch, Jim and Melinda Sears of Vinita, Shawn and Dustin Maple of Chelsea.
13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Monday Jan. 21, 2019 from 5:00 ~ 7:00 pm in the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be 1:00 pm, Tuesday Jan 22, 2019 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home with Pastor Leland Bartlett officiating. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery.
