Obituary for Ernest Ray Blackfox

Luginbuel Funeral Home, Vinita, OK (918) 256-5555.......Ernest Ray Blackfox 73, passed away on December 10, 2018 in Inola, OK. Ernest was born on November 10, 1945 in Strang, OK to Ike and Julia (Grass) Blackfox.
Ernest attended and graduated from Strang High School and would go on to enroll in Auto Mechanic and Body shop school in California. Ernest worked many years for the Cherokee Nation as a Construction Worker and really loved building houses. Ernest is of the Baptist faith and worshipped frequently at Jack Robbin Baptist Church in Spavinaw, Oklahoma. He loved to watch basketball and any sport OU played. Ernest Loved horse pitching, drawing and painting. He loved to eat Kanuchi and could smell when his sisters were cooking Fry Bread from miles away. He will be missed by all who knew him and loved him.
Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, Ike and Julia (Grass) Blackfox, sons, Timothy and Aaron Blackfox, daughter, Kelly Blackfox, sisters, Genana Hopkins, Bonnie Perez, Marilyn Blackfox, brothers, Tommy, Lewis, Tooney, Billy Ray and Bobby Dean Blackfox.
Ernest is survived by his wife, Florence (Orvalene) Blackfox of the home, daughter, Rebecca Irene Blackfox, sisters, Joyce Rodruguez, Linda Starr, Rhodina Truitt, Leanna Easter, brothers, Walter and Leon Blackfox, grandson, Philip Carruba, granddaughter, Chrystal Dameron, great grandsons, Caleb and Conner Carruba and many other relatives, friends and loved ones.
Family visitation will be on Sunday December 16, 2018 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel, Vinita, OK. Funeral service will be held Monday December 17, 2018 also at Jack Ribbon Baptist Church at 2:00 PM. Ernest will be laid to rest at Ribbon Indian Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.
