Obituary for Joseph "Joe" Smoke

Luginbuel Funeral Home 918-256-5555...........Joseph “Joe” Smoke, 64-year-old resident of Afton, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2018. Joe was born in Spavinaw, Oklahoma on September 9, 1953 to Sam and Goldie (Dreadfulwater) Smoke. He graduated from Ketchum High School in 1973 where he was an outstanding baseball player. Joe loved all sports and continued playing fast and slow pitch softball for many years. He worked in the education field as a bus driver. Joe was a great friend to many people and will be greatly missed by all.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Paula Jane Smoke; and brother Sanford Smoke.
Survivors include wife, Jo Anne Smoke of the home; children, Dustin Moore of Ketchum, OK, Goldie Grace Smoke of the home, Katherine Joe Smoke of the home; stepchildren, Terri Shaw of Holdenville, OK, Candi Jones of Tulsa, OK, Wade Davenport of Lexington, OK, Scott Davenport of Vinita, OK, Matt Davenport and wife Cindy of Chelsea, OK; Siblings, William Smoke and wife Debbie of Tahlequah, OK, Andrew Smoke and wife Brenda of Vinita, OK, Virginia Young and husband Jimmy of Spavinaw, OK, Vivian Hair of Wickliffe, OK, Pauline Meashingtubby of Salina, OK, Johnny Smoke of Jay, OK, Billy Smoke and wife Judy of Locust Grove, OK, Ronnie Smoke and wife Brenda of Seattle, Washington; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Services will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Ketchum High School Gym. Interment will follow the service in the Ribbon Indian Cemetery, Spavinaw, Ok. Officiating will be Pastor Kevin Lancaster with the assistance of Rocky Squirrel. Services are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home.
