The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Richard Abbott can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: I am so sadden to learn of Dicks passing. He was such a wonderful man and a joker! Always teasing and smiling. I am sure his little fur baby will miss him. We fondly referred to it as his date. Rest In Peace Dick and thank you for your service to our country and community. Prayers to the family.

Condolence: I’m going to greatly miss my Uncle Dick. He always looked out for me. During the hot summer months, I’d visit him the Abbott Garage on South Wilson and would open the Coke box and give me a “cool one” as he used to call them. Our 2015 Honor Flight trip we took to Washington D.C. was the best! He truly enjoyed the honors people gave him for his service in WWII at Pearl Harbor and was overwhelmed with tears. We had the best of times on that trip. My uncle was an ace mechanic and my dad and him would always collaborate on tough automobile problems. I remember him also running Nulls Auto Hotel in the Hotel Vinita. I am so sorry to lose him. Please accept our sincere condolences Linda Ann, Jack, Lorene and Dick.
