Dorothy May Epperson, 73-year-old Vinita resident passed away Friday April 20, 2018, at Saint Francis Hospital, in Tulsa. She was born November 30, 1944 in McAlister, Oklahoma to William Tell Hale and Iva O. (Trolinger) Hale. She attended Vinita Schools. Dorothy worked as a cook and was a home health aide. She married Stanley Lane Epperson in 1970. Dorothy had two daughters, Shirley and Sherrie. Dorothy was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church of Vinita. She enjoyed cooking, reading cookbooks, but most of all spending time with family. She loved her family and had a special place in her heart for all of them. Dorothy will be missed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Epperson is preceded in death by her parents, William and Iva Hale; husband, Stanley Epperson; siblings, Lola Ruth Hale, Terry Lee Hale, William Tell Hale Jr., Utah Hale, Sterlin Hale; and a grandson, Jeremy Faglie.
Survivors include daughters, Shirley Faglie and husband Jerry, of Peggs, Oklahoma, Sherrie True and husband Robert Parris, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, all grandsons except for one granddaughter, Denise Halderman; fifteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Pauline Jerger of Wylie, Texas, Mary Whilster, of Redbird, Oklahoma, Jesse Hale, of Vinita, Roy Hale of Vinita, Richard Hale of Oklahoma; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services for Dorothy May Epperson will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at the Luginbuel Chapel with Pastor Justin Turner officiating. The family will be present for viewing from 6:00 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 23, 2018 at Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com
