Theo James ’TJ’ Washer, age 85 and a resident of Bartlesville, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at his home.
Theo James Washer was born on June 12, 1932 in Achille, Oklahoma. He was the son of Arley and Addie (Cannon) Washer. He moved with his family to Borger, Texas where he received his education, graduating from Borger High School in 1950. TJ then attended Texas Tech where he received a Bachelor of Science degree. In 1961, TJ moved to Bartlesville where he was an Accountant in the Comptroller’s Department of Phillips Petroleum Company, retiring in 1985.
TJ had many interests including, basketball, golf (he could drive like a pro as a young man), hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a member of the Frank Phillips Men’s Club, the Watershed Association, opening the second gate at the Copan Dam and he supported the Boys and Girls Club (encouraging the children to get a good education). He had many friends and always took the time to visit.
TJ is survived by a son, Tommy Joe Washer and his wife, Jeanie of Borger, Texas; a daughter, Karen Sue Tyranny of Dennison, Texas; two adopted daughters, Faith Lowen and her husband, Cody and Lacey Robertson and her husband, Dalton, all of Bartlesville; two brothers, Ernest Washer and Pete Washer; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and his best friend and life partner, Wanda Miller of Bartlesville.
TJ was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father, Red Livingston and two brothers, Jody Livingston and an infant brother.
Graveside service and interment for TJ will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 2:00 PM on the family farm west of Bartlesville. Pastor Ike Amaro will be the officiant.
