Luginbuel Funeral Home, Vinita, Oklahoma 918-256-5555……. Ronald Wayne Sunday passed away February 07, 2018 in Vinita, Oklahoma. He was born August 23, 1946 in Pryor, Oklahoma to John J and Ella Mae (Starr) Sunday. Ronald attended school in the Vinita and Ketchum area, and enlisted in the Military. He was a member of the 82nd and 101st Air Borne, AA and Special Forces serving in Vietnam. Before going active duty in the military, he married Johnna Sue on July 03, 1964, they were married 37 years before she preceded him in 2001. Ronald worked as a mental health aid at ESH where he retired. He was an accomplished guitarist and could play many different instruments, he had a band called the Down Home Road Band. Fishing was his favorite hobby when he was not playing music. Ronald was a proud Cherokee.
Ronald was preceded by three sisters, Betty Mae Williams, Mary Whitehead and Mildred Carol; three brothers, McKenzie, Johnny and infant brother Brewster Sunday; one grandson, Brandon Starr Sunday and brother-in-law Bobby Barnhart.
Survivors include three sons, Timothy Lee Sunday of Alabama, Ronnie W. Sunday and wife Sherill of Vinita, Christopher Shane Sunday of Vinita; one daughter, Ronda Michele Rodriguez and husband Pedro of Grove, Daughter-in-law Wanda Neil, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Leroy Sunday of Tahlequah and Billy Sunday of Vinita; three sisters, Oliver Irene Scott of Vinita, Shirley Cook of Ft. Myers, Florida and Lois Trout of California.
