Glen Alan Hayes, 57 year old White Oak resident, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2017 in Vinita. He was born on January 15, 1960 in Vinita to Jacob Franklin “Frank” Hayes and Sandra Collette (Merritt) Hayes. Glen attended White Oak School, until he enlisted into the United States Marine Corps in March of 1977, serving his country for five years and was honorably discharged as a Lance Corporal. Glen married Sharon Renee Bolin on March 22, 2006 in Dry Creek, OK. He worked for the Veterans Administration in Muskogee and Vinita as an Advanced Medical Support Assistant. Glen was a member of the White Oak Baptist Church. He loved to hunt deer and turkey in his free time. Glen enjoyed watching his daughters play basketball, cooking out with his family, and cheering on the Oklahoma Sooners and the Dallas Cowboys.
Those preceding him in death include; his mother, Sandra Hayes, step-mother, Barbara Hayes, brother in-law, Larry Bowie and sister in-law, Janet Hayes.
The family includes: his wife Sharon of Bunch, OK; his father, Frank Hayes of White Oak; his children, Jacob Lawrence Hayes and wife Tennille Gunter of Tahlequah, John Hayes of Pensacola, Cheyenne Young of Malta, Montana, Cenia Hayes of Bunch, Mykal Hayes of Bunch; step-children, Stuart Polk of Bunch, Sierra Polk-Kingfisher and husband Nick of Tahlequah; his siblings, Ed Jones of Vinita, Johnny Hayes of Ketchum, Terry Hayes of Vinita, Susan Bowie of Highland Village, Texas, Larry Hayes of White Oak; four grandchildren, Janet Hayes, Zane Hayes, Trenton Gunter, Kinzie Hayes; numerous, nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Skip McClain officiating. The graveside service and Military Honors will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery, in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com.
