Obituary for Cecil Leon Sumner

Luginbuel Funeral Home, 918-256-5555………….Cecil Leon Sumner, 73 year old Big Cabin resident, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017. Leon was born in Big Cabin on November 9, 1943 to Darril and Helen (Hacker) Sumner. His family moved to Tulsa where he graduated from Nathan Hale High School. He then returned to Big Cabin and started Continental Refuge in 1976. Leon enjoyed raising cattle, fishing, and visiting with people.
Survivors include his children: Leon Charles Sumner of Battleground Washington, Andrea Perkins and husband Mark of Chouteau, OK and Christina Duvall and husband Craig of Welch, OK, one brother Jim Sumner and wife Francis of Catoosa, OK, 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, aunt Bernice Honey, Cousin Jimmy Hacker and Wife June and special friend and companion Darlene Steele of Spavinaw, OK. He is preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Mary Betts, his parents, and brothers Jack and Terry Sumner.
Family visitation will be Thursday July 20, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Luginbuel Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Friday, July 21, 2017 at the Luginbuel Funeral Chapel with Pastor Troy Powell officiating. Pallbearers will be David McKee, Ben Woodruff, Preston Creen, Brandon Brown, Tommy Damron and Sam Sumners. Honorary pallbearers will be Dwight Helm, Trace Helm, Wayne Fields, Walter Simmons and Craig Downs. Interment will follow at Big Cabin Cemetery.
